It’s Official…

No sleep for this girl tonight.

Tomorrow Keira has her “minor surgery” to get tubes in her ears. I have to be AT the hospital at 6:30 AM. Seriously?! I thought I would get to sleep in but NO….this means I will have to get up at around 4:15 am and get dressed, pack her bag(s), get her up and in the car by 4:45 am to get to my father in law’s house by 5:25 am (with a stop for coffee and breakfast along the way) to get to the hospital in time to find a spot and get inside before her scheduled time.

I may just let Jeremy get Keira ready for bed tonight and hit the sack around 8pm. Did you notice that “let”? She usually doesn’t go to bed until 9 and get’s up around 11:45 and again around 1:30 and sleeps until 7 or 8 in the morning. For those people whose babies sleep through the night – I hate you. Not really – but sort of. She’s so stinkin’ cute I don’t mind it.

There is a long list of demands to be met: nothing to drink except for sprite (for an 11 month old???), water or apple juice after 1:30am. Nothing at all period in her mouth except for her paci after 4:30am. Wear clothes that are easy on/easy off and bring something that she’s attached to. That would be her “ball kitty” at the moment and her bottle, sippy cup, etc. (things a baby normally needs on an outing).

Jeremy is going to be an hour late to work so that he can see Seth off to school on the bus and Jeremy’s dad (Big Daddy to the kids) is going with me so I won’t be alone. I’m glad, I’d go crazy there by myself.

Also – I have a free turkey that’s going to be sitting in my fridge this year (we get one for free every year from work – awesome) so I called my brother and my mother – guess what? Thanksgiving at my house this year! Holy flippin’ cow….you’d think they’d notice if I paid a restaurant to do everything for me? lol No – I won’t do that. They at least know I will make desserts.

One more tidbit… is my new hangout. I’ve even talked to the hubs – front bathroom renovation is in the works – with one catch. I have to do everything myself (well – almost everything, who wants to do tile work on our floors?) I also plan on doing it with about a $1,000 or less budget. Watch out now! I’ll keep you updated on my progress – I’ll even take pictures! 😀 Who wants to hold me to that?


TBD or Mish Mash

I don’t know what to title this post so I’ll just leave it as it is cause there is O2 stuff, baby stuff and other stuff so it’s just a mish mash….there we go  🙂

So….I made my first sale this weekend for Origami Owl! I sold a locket to my sister-in-law Rita and she took some catalogs and business cards with her the next day to church. I was so excited and I can’t wait to get more orders and make some more people smile with their lockets! 🙂

We ate at a buffet for Jeremy’s mom’s birthday on Saturday. Keira ate four pieces of chicken, three green beans, three peach slices, two cantaloupe pieces, a few bites of jello that she could actually keep in her mouth and some ice cream. Man was she hungry! This was also the first week that we started giving her bottles with a little cereal in them before bed. She still gets up at night but it’s a longer stretch from when she first goes down for bed and the first time she gets up. Even then she only nurses for five minutes and she’s out again for another three to four hours.

Like Friday night she went to bed at about 9 and woke up at 3am. Then she was up again at 5:30 but then slept until 8:30. She has NEVER slept past seven since she was born, it was a first and REALLY nice for mommy and daddy. 🙂 These days she’s only eating cereal and fruit for breakfast and then what ever we eat for lunch and a toddler meal for dinner. Yup – toddler meals. She LOVES them and she does so good with them. I swear the girl has gained at least two pounds this week from bottles and actual dinners at night.

She started to refuse the stage 3 baby foods and that’s why we started trying the toddler meals. At daycare she eats their lunches just in her size portion. Amanda (her teacher) says she eats every bite, every day. Keira also loves her pink Playtex sippy cup. She won’t drink out of anything else and I am getting tired of washing it everyday. I will have to buy her another one. OH – and we just went from 5 oz. bottles to 10 oz. bottles. I put six ounces in them today for daycare to see if she eats it all. She had just been taking 5 oz. for the longest time – we only have one month until we can start halving her bottles with whole milk. I kind of can’t wait but at the same time it kind of makes me sad. 😦

Another reason why we’ve been giving her bottles before bed – I think my milk is drying up. I hardly get a half ounce when I pump anymore and drinking more water isn’t helping. I knew it would eventually happen but it makes me feel like my body is saying “Sorry – no more bonding time with Keira!” Jeremy has been giving her the bottles before bed and I know he enjoys that time with her. He deserves it. 🙂

As far as other things go – I am totally happier. I used to wonder what people would say when I would say or do things but I’ve come to realize that what they think or actually say – doesn’t matter because their opinion – in the end – is pointless to me. I don’t do things in my life to benefit them. A wise not old woman told me once “Those people say and do those things to get under your skin because they feel inferior to you.”

Thank you not old woman, thanks. 🙂 I always thought I wasn’t doing enough for my family but apparently – I’m totally doing enough!

New PR’s – Maybe??

So since it rained on Monday I didn’t get to go for a run until Wednesday. That’s the night that we go to church. Which means I usually go run before I get the kids and then meet Jeremy at his dad’s house cause they watch Keira while we go to church.

Well – that’s not what happened on Wednesday. Since we live 30+ minutes away from our church Jeremy wanted me to come pick him up. My car gets better gas mileage than his truck – so I said sure. I changed clothes at work, went and picked up Seth (which is back in school now 15 minutes from where I work) then went on to the house (15+ minutes from the school away from where I work) and did some house cleaning before Jeremy got home. After we all piled in the car we went to get Keira from daycare (closer to my work and Jeremy’s parents) – and then headed to get something for dinner THEN to Jeremy’s parents house.

If you’re wondering why we picked Keira up last – you try doing laundry and dishes and cleaning house while a 9 1/2 month old is clinging to your legs or wanting you to hold her or cry cause you aren’t holding her. Yeah – it felt weird being at home and her not there.

Finally – once at Jeremy’s parents house we dropped the kiddos off and headed for the park. It was about 6:30 by the time we got there. Remember – we have a 5K to run in 22 days (as of today) so we need to get in as much running as we can. We walked for a minute and stretched our muscles and then started off. I turned on my Strava after we were done stretching and didn’t touch it the whole time. I also used the band that Jeremy bought for me.

Long run short – we did 2.5 miles according to my Strava and I had a pace of 12:29 BUT Jeremy’s phone (which is different from mine and in a Otterbox case) says that he did 2.1 miles and had a pace of 15:06. WTHeck?!? When we look at the GPS mapping of the route we took his is more smooth and mines all over the place. His also says that we started and stopped at the same place and mine says we didn’t (but we kind of did so it should at least be close but it’s not).


Does that mean that all my mileage and times are wrong?! Could it have been from the arm band covering up my phone that interfered with the GPS signal? I don’t know. I was mad!!! Then Jeremy said this after we looked at all my other runs and saw that they were kind of off too “At least your phone has been consistently wrong which means you have been improving.” Huh?

He meant that since my phone hasn’t been exactly recording, but I’ve been using the same phone, the PR’s I got on the run for Wednesday are still improvements. See what I’m saying? Here are my PR’s from Wednesday:

Those are a little better than my 2nd place times so maybe Jeremy is right. I don’t know. Maybe I will use some of the extra money I earn from my new venture to buy myself one of those GPS watches. Maybe that will be better than my phone!

Raspberry Lemon Cheesecake

Hey hey folks!

I have already given you the Brownie Batter Dip recipe I used for Leah’s house earlier this morning and I promised you in that post that I would give you the recipe for the cheesecakes I made too. Well – here it is!

To be honest – I was never a huge fan of raspberries. I love strawberries (which I used to hate before I got pregnant with Keira) and blueberries, those two are probably my favorites. I need to learn to make a blueberry pie…..but back to raspberries. I like them because of the color – silly I know. I had honestly had them only once before making these cheesecakes for Leah’s the other night.

And without further ado….I give you Raspberry Lemon Cheesecakes. BTW – this is Let’s Dish’s picture from her site. I was in such a rush I didn’t take a picture. That link will also take you to her page with this recipe. Also – I didn’t do mine in little mason jars. I made two pies.

This is what I had for my recipe:

Graham Cracker Pie Crust (I used two 9″ ones but one 10″ one would have been better!)
2/3 Cup Sugar
Zest of 1 Lemon
1 (8 Oz.) Package Cream Cheese, Softened
2 Teaspoons Lemon Juice
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 (8 Oz.) Package Of Whipped Topping, Thawed
1 Cup Raspberries, Slightly Mashed

Directions : In a bowl, mix together sugar and lemon zest.  Then add the cream cheese and beat until smooth. Next stir in the lemon juice and vanilla. After that, fold in the whipped topping until blended, then fold in the raspberries.  Spoon the
filling into your pie crust (or crusts). Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. (I had to stick mine in the freezer!) Garnish with additional whipped topping (if you have it – I didn’t) and fresh raspberries.

I took one for Leah’s house and ended up leaving less than half with Leah (about three pieces). It was yummy! Keira loved the raspberries (I didn’t give her any of the actual pie). I might have to make this later next week….I feel like I need another piece. 🙂

Brownie Batter Dip

I thought since I posted yesterday about what I took to Leah’s house that I would share the recipes and where I got them from.

If you’ve checked out my favorite blogs/sites page you guys know I LOVE Foodgawker!!! It’s like the best place EVER for foodies! Right now in my favorites tab there are 1,102 recipes. Lord knows I’ve only made about 20 of them. I need to start putting notes on the ones that I have so I don’t duplicate them….and so if I had problems I’d remember what they were!

For Leah’s dinner it was asked who wanted to bring what. I am KILLER with dessert so I snagged that right away. I decided that I would make two things that way if someone didn’t like one, they would have something else to try. It’s always good to have extra dessert! 🙂

So first on my list was brownie batter dip. Who doesn’t like to lick the bowl after you’ve made some brownies? Sometimes the batter is better than the actual brownies! Seth always asks if he can lick the spoon or the beaters and we usually split it. Jeremy gets a beater, Seth gets one and I get the spoon for the bowl! I don’t know what we will do when Keira is old enough to ask for something!

I found this on Foodgawker one day when I was trolling. It sounded good, easy and yummy so I hearted it to my favorites. When you click on a picture in Foodgawker it takes you to the website its pinned from….in this case it’s Mel’s Kitchen Cafe. I have to say pretty much everything on her site makes me hungry….No…I am not pregnant again! 🙂

Anywho – this is the page for the dip and here is her picture that caught my attention.
Looks yummy right? I know…that’s why I saved the recipe!
All you need for this dip is the following:

8 Ounces Cream Cheese, softened to room temperature (I used light)
1/4 Cup Butter, softened to room temperature
1-1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar (she used 2 cups but it was too sweet for us)
5 Tblsp All Purpose Flour
5 Tblsp Cocoa Powder (I used Dutch)
2 Tblsp Brown Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
2-4 Tblsp Milk
Chocolate Chips for garnish

Mel’s Kitchen Cafe got this from Pinterest and Something Swanky. She (Mel) adapted it and I adapted it from her. I have two bowls of this sitting in my fridge. I think I might bring one to work this week so the guys will eat some. Only half of it got eaten at Leah’s house. It would be really good for a party or a baby shower, somewhere where there is going to be lots of people. We ate ours with graham crackers, strawberries, apples and chocolate chip cookies. Yes – cookies. It would be good with animal crackers too according to Mel so I might need to find me a box. I haven’t had animal crackers in forever!

Where Do I Start….

How about we start on Friday with the dinner with friends? I knew this weekend would be busy but gosh – crazy busy!

Friday after work I didn’t go run – and I missed it terribly!!! – I had to go to the store to get the stuff for our friend Leah’s house. I was making brownie batter dip (which I now have TWO bowls of sitting in my fridge) and Raspberry Lemon Cheesecakes.

I got off work, got to the store and got out in about 20 minutes. Record time for the Wal-Mart closest to my work. Then I was off to get the kiddos. I got Seth first, just because he got in trouble and was in the front office. He supposedly knocked over some dominos and the teacher told him to do something and he was on the other side of the room and he yelled at her. He said he did it so she could hear him over everyone else (those kids are super loud). No one was forthcoming with what actually happened so he was just grounded from his DS for the night. It was supposed to be his distraction after dinner with our friends. Thankfully everyone else brought their kids too so he didn’t get to board with a teenager around and matchbox cars Leah had for him to play with.

Moving on – we got Keira and headed home. Once there I went ahead started making everything while Seth helped put up Keira’s bags from daycare and play with her so she wouldn’t be under my feet. She loves to watch me cook and sometimes Jeremy just has to stand at the stove with her if I can’t hold her. Jeremy got home and jumped in the shower and we were all done at the same time (for once).

Leah’s new house (which is amazing by the way) was about an hour from our house. We live in the boonies people. Keira took a nap and Seth was reading Animal Farm in the back seat. We were almost there till our GPS in the car told us to go one way that didn’t exist. We had to call Leah and get directions. Once there we said our hey’s and hi’s and walked around the house. She has an amazing tree house for her nieces and nephews and I love her yard and really just everything. I told Jeremy it’s the kind of house I always pictured for us.

There was another baby there (well – she’s over a year old but still Keira’s size) and they shared puffs with each other and I lost Jeremy (to a different conversation with someone) and talked with Lori and Terry and watched babies. Before we knew it – it was time to eat. Everyone gathered and got their plates. The food was awesome as it always was. Oh – I forgot to mention how we knew Leah and everyone else.

You see – Jeremy used to be a draftsman for an architecture firm. Leah was the front desk lady, then there was Terry and Mike which we both worked with at our old jobs and then Bob, Carol and Valerie and Tracy. Most everyone brought their significant other and I knew Terry’s wife from my old job too. At the architecture firm they would have pot luck Fridays and if I was off work I’d go and bring Jeremy’s dish. Soon everyone went on to different jobs and we hardly saw each other any more. We’ve gotten together once for Thanksgiving (at Leah’s old house) and now this time at her new house.

We seriously need to do it more often – at least once every other month. The food was great and so was the company! These people are amazing and SOOO MUCH FUN. Lori (Terry’s wife) is hilarious. She had everyone laughing! I mentioned a girls night before we left and all of us seemed on board with it. If we can’t get everyone together for dinners like Friday every so often I am sure us girls can keep up a girls night!!

It’s great to have amazing friends in your life! Below – all of us after dinner. I already miss you guys!

9 Months!

Keira turned 9 months old this past Saturday – the 18th. Yesterday was her check up. Seth also had a check up cause he’s 10 this year.

Seth’s check up was like a physical for school except he also got a flu shot too. I asked the doctor about his height because Seth said that he gets picked on because of it. He’s 4′-5″ and I am 5′-4″. The doctor said that Seth should end up being about half a foot taller than me – so that’s about how tall Jeremy is – 5′-10″. The doctor told Seth that he just hasn’t hit his growth spurt just yet. I remember when my brother hit his growth spurt (we are five years apart). It’s like he grew a foot in two weeks (I’m sure it took longer than that in reality). Hopefully – since Seth takes after his Uncle Johnathan so much that’s how it will be for him too.

As for Keira’s check up she was fine until she was laid down so the doctor could check her belly. She didn’t like that and started to cry. When she cried some times she sticks her bottom lip out and frowns…it’s makes me sad to see her unhappy but at the same time I think it’s a cute face. Is that bad? Anyway – they weighed her and she’s only 15 lbs 3 oz. which means she’s only gained a pound since her last check up three months ago.

They measured her and she’s 27″ long. That’s an inch longer than she was three months ago. It kind of made me worry that she wasn’t eating enough or that something was wrong because she hadn’t grown much. The doctor said not to worry – that based on her stats and the growth chart it just meant that she was going to be very petite. That just proves to us that she does take after Jeremy’s mom’s side of the family as far as her body build is concerned. His mom, Aunt and cousin Tara are all about my height or a little taller and little. Little like I gave my size three jeans I couldn’t wear anymore to his mom and they were a little big on her. Yeah – seriously.

Keira’s doctor also said that she could eat anything she wants since she burns off her calories so fast. She has started to eat the lunch that the daycare provides and her teachers say that she has been doing really good with it. Today is ham, corn and pineapples so I am sure that she will love it. Ham is her favorite at the moment.

OH! Something I didn’t know but am kind of super excited about – Keira’s doctor said that beginning at 11 months we can start subing half of her formula bottles with whole milk! She still only drinks between 4-5 ounces every three hours from a bottle so that means that come October 18th 2 1/2 ounces can be formula or breast milk and 2 1/2 ounces can be whole milk. If she does good with that for two weeks we can totally transfer her over to whole milk. I think that will be a good time for me to start weaning her. She already wants the milk I pour for myself (I think she thinks it’s formula or breast milk).

They also gave her a flu shot in her leg and pricked her toe to check her blood count and other things. It came back saying that she’s anemic. Which makes me think that I am too. Guess I should start taking my iron pills again huh? He (Keira’s doctor) said that we should get some Flintstone vitamins with iron and break one in half and crush it up and give it to her daily. So today I did just that and put it in her cereal. Did you know that regular Flintstone vitamins don’t have iron in them? I figured it would – I though it was weird.

Anyway – both kids are good except for the iron issue which makes mommy and daddy happy. Keira ended up falling asleep at around seven and she slept until about 11. Then she got up again around 2:30 and again at 5:30 (I was already up getting ready for work) so I count that she only got up twice. It’s an improvement from the past few nights when it’s been three times. I guess because she was so tired from the doctor’s office.

When did you start giving your baby whole milk? I don’t think Keira will have any reactions but you never know.

It’s all in the details

Since Keira has been in the world – I’ve been thinking about her first birthday. I know she will be too little to remember but it’s her FIRST birthday – you have to go all out right? Then again on her Sweet Sixteen birthday but that’s FAR into the future.

For Seth’s first birthday I took him to see my dad and his wife on the mountain. I got him a small cake from Wal-Mart and we all had lunch together at dad’s house. At that point in my life I hadn’t even turned twenty yet – that was two months away – and it was just me and Seth. I didn’t have any friends because all I did was work and come home to Seth. I was pretty much alone most the time. Not to get all sad or anything – we will move on.

I wish I could have done more for Seth’s first birthday but I will make it up to him on his sixteenth I guess.

I’ve been talking to Jeremy about Keira’s party for months. I wanted to have it at the first place I was able to take her when she was three months old – a little cute cafe. Jeremy said no but then said if I could get someone to help pay the $100 bucks for the location we could. Yeah – no one would help. I resigned myself to having 30+ people at my house and kids running around and a total mess to clean up afterward – until a few weeks ago.

I started hinting about it again – wanting to have it somewhere else besides our house cause I wanted it to be different and special. Going to this little cafe has been something I’ve done for the past four months – we’ve gone at least once a month and I’ve taken the kids along. Sometimes it’s just me and them because Jeremy has to work. Other times he is with us. The girls that work there always talk about Keira’s hair. The girl has a ton of it! More than her daddy at the moment….
Anyway – he finally is seeing my point of view – that this is a big deal and that it needs to be royally celebrated!! So yesterday I called and booked the venue for Sunday November the 18th at 3pm. That is her actual birthday too so that makes me even more happy. Although – who knows who will come out for a Sunday evening birthday.

Now that the location is set I can get into my event planner mode. The invitations I picked out are chocolate-brown and pink which goes wonderfully with the pink and brown table cloths at the venue! See! Things working out already! I am going to get her invitations from an Etsy store called Paper Impressions. As for the one’s I’m in the process of ordering its these!
Not the wording of course but this is the invitation! I’m debating on getting return addresses printed but I could do that myself. She also has coordinating thank you cards, stickers and hang tags. Depending on what I decide to do with favors I may end up getting the stickers or hang tags.

Next on my list of to do’s? Find a baker for her smash cake and cupcakes since my most favorite baker has closed down to focus more on her family. My second favorite baker is a little on the pricey side and my third most favorite – I’m not quite sure can get exactly what I want. I’ve had a few small (teeny tiny issues) with the cakes I’ve ordered from her.

After the baker is finalized – photography!! I have a few folks in mind! If I do it I will miss a lot and well – I’d want a professional to capture every little moment cause I don’t want to miss a thing from this birthday!

The venue and the invitations are just the first two details I am working on. There is LOTS more… me!

Baby Food No No’s

I was reading about different foods to give to Keira since she’s getting older and I came across a website called Wholesome Baby Food.

There is a whole list on her site of “forbidden baby foods” and why you shouldn’t give them to your baby. Like honey for example – it could cause botulism in infants under a year old. I won’t name everything on her list – you can check it out yourself here.

Personally – Keira will not be getting ANY eggs, honey or any form of milk (ice cream etc.), peanut butter, any form of nuts, no citrus or acidic fruit, strawberries, raspberries or blueberries, grapes or shellfish. Simply because I don’t want her to have any issues with any of that stuff and because well – it’s what her doctor said. Doctor’s know best right?

I waited for all this stuff with Seth and he has no allergies to food what so ever. I’m hoping that Keira will have no issues too – when she can have that stuff. We made homemade ice cream (chocolate and vanilla) Monday and Keira really wanted some but I wouldn’t let her have any. It had half and half and sweetened condensed milk and whole milk in it.

I’ve read about people giving their babies shredded chicken and things like that at this age but I am not considering that until she gets teeth – which – she almost has!

What did/do you give your 6 month old? She’s in second stage foods right now and she just had apricots yesterday. She seemed to like them! 🙂 I love her faces when she tries new foods!


I logged into WordPress today and glanced through the things that were on the front page. I stopped at one that said “I’m Pissed” with a picture of what looked to be a Wal-Mart shopping isle. It’s a blog post by a guy named Glenn Pendlay…you can read it right here. Please do as I am going to be talking about some of the things he’s said.

First off – I haven’t read anything else this guy has written. I know he’s from Wichita Falls because that’s what it says in the left margin – “wichitafallsweightlifting”. At least – that’s where I assume he’s from but you know what they say about assuming things.

In the first paragraph we learn he’s a weightlifter – good for him. He talks about the food he was eating at the mess hall with the other guys and it actually made me kind of hungry – even at 8:30 in the morning. Then he mentions the commercials on the flight back home. You have no idea how often this happens – it happens ALL THE TIME. I can’t sit and watch T.V. with Jeremy and Seth without a pop tart commercial coming on or a thing for Doritos. Man I love doritos.

He’s right too – why do we do this to ourselves? Why does the government and Mrs. Obama scream “Eat Healthy” and to fight obesity then let all these crappy foods be produced and marketed to little kids and busy families? I will admit – we’ve had our share of Pop Tarts, Toaster Strudels and junk food in our house – we aren’t perfect. But since getting pregnant with Keira last year – I’ve looked at what’s in my food a lot more closely and tried to change our eating habits.

I really wanted to make Keira’s baby food but after looking at the ingredients in the baby food I’d bought her cause it was on sale – it’s exactly what I would have made. Fruit or vegetables in water or juice. I always taste what I give her and I always read the labels on EVERYTHING she eats. There is even an app I have on my phone called Fooducate. It’s awesome. It’s like having one of those “Eat This Not That” books on your phone. You scan the bar code on what ever it is you want to know about and it gives you a grade – A through D and tells you why it’s given that rating. The best thing about it is that it gives you alternatives on another tab that’s better for you but still the same thing.

Get it? It helps you eat better. You have no idea how many times I’ve scanned something and it’s told me an off brand that’s cheaper – is better for me. So it really does two things – helps you eat better and it can help you save money! We used to eat out all the time and at least twice a week we still do because I just don’t feel like cooking (I’ve been sick this week and one night we had spinach pizza – so yummy). I cook at home for dinner at least 4 times a work week and on Saturday’s for breakfast and lunch. Jeremy takes left overs from the night before to work for lunch and Seth fixes himself a sandwich, chips, a snack and a drink for lunch every day. He eats breakfast at school most the time. I try to fix muffins for breakfast through the week or we have instant breakfast in the cabinet.

Seth used to eat lunch at school but when he would tell me that the main meal on their lunch plates on a specific day was cheese sticks – I started to wonder and that’s when I told him he should start taking his lunch. If it’s a special day (like field day or a field trip or something) I will let him eat at school. Otherwise – he takes his lunch. I thought schools were supposed to give kids good, balanced meals for lunch. How is cheese sticks as the main food any kind of balanced?

No wonder kids these days are obese – no wonder obesity is becoming an epidemic in adults either. We are prone to “this is quicker than cooking at home” when actually it’s not. Or – this cereal bar is just as good as oatmeal or a whole wheat muffin – yeah right.

You know what Seth told me the other day? He said he likes this girl at school and he talks to her all the time and she’s really nice and she’s got blonde hair (his favorite) and she’s really pretty – but he doesn’t want to ask her to be his girlfriend because he’s afraid his friends will make fun of him because she’s not skinny. Seriously – it’s what he said. I was like “What do you mean she’s not skinny?” He said that she was a little bigger than the other girls and that she does cheer-leading for a recreation team. You know what I told him? “Seth – it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks – if you think she’s pretty then ask her to be your girlfriend if you want. Your friends shouldn’t make fun of people and you shouldn’t think that everyone has to be a twig either.”

I totally understand that some people have health issues that prohibit them from losing weight – but at the same time – maybe stopping eating all the crap and starting to eat healthier would help just a little. I mean – pasta is good but only if it’s whole grain or whole wheat but certainly not all the time. Maybe once a week. Eat a salad every once in a while, put some lettuce and tomatoes on that hamburger if you’re going to eat it. Stop drinking carbonated drinks and drink some water.

I know I have a problem with drinking tea – I’m a Southerner – we all have that problem. I am trying to drink more water though because I was told to by my lactation consultant and my doctor. I also have an issue lately with coffee. I needed it this week to stay awake – I usually don’t drink it all but the caffeine can’t be good.

I’m rambling. Point is I agree with Glenn – we all need to try to eat better and stop filling our kids with crap. Seth get’s mad cause he isn’t allowed to have carbonated beverages and there’s a coke sitting in the fridge. I didn’t buy it….just so you know.
