2nd (Day 33)

Last night was the volleyball tournament. We only had 6 teams so we finished last night around 11:30. Our team got second place and we got a trophy. I had fun. My legs and arms are sore but it was worth it!!!

This morning I went out about 7 to shoot at the woodpecker. I know they are protected but I thought that if he got scared enough he wouldn’t come back. We think it’s a momma woodpecker teaching a baby woodpecker how to do their thing. I have seen the small one and the hubs has seen the big one. That’s why we think that. I just wish they would find somewhere else to peck!

Well – today is a busy day!!! Off to start it!

8 Weeks (Day 30)

Hey look at that – I’m caught up! Yea me!

To the point of this weekly update – today I am 8 weeks pregnant. My thing on BabyCenter.com still says 7 weeks – I think it’s a day behind.

Other things Baby Center says: webbed fingers and toes are poking out from baby’s hands & feet, eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from throat to the branches of developing lungs, and the “tail” is just about gone.

In the baby’s brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. The external genitals still haven’t developed enough to reveal whether you’re having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby – about the size of a kidney bean – is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can’t feel it.

I also weighed myself again this morning. I weigh the exact same as I did 4 weeks ago when we found out. I am wearing my Fossil jeans (size 28 or 6) today which still fit. I think they will last a few more weeks. Even longer when I buy my Belly Band from Run System 63 on Etsy. I haven’t decided on which ones I am buying yet but I like these two:

The one on the left (the black and white one) is $12 and the one on the right (the green one) is $22. It’s more because it’s longer. BUT she does sell two belly bands for $25 and you can pick from black, brown chocolate, white, grey or green. I may go that route – I am not sure yet.

What do you think???

30th Anniversary (Day 29)

Yesterday – Tuesday – was the company that I work for 30th anniversary. We got black polo’s with their logo and 30th anniversary embroidered on it. They are actually pretty nice. Mine was a full front button up and the men shirts are three button.

We went up to the home office for a big lunch. The caterer’s they hired were the guys that do the Nascar circuit – Huckleberry’s BBQ I believe it was called. We had ribs, chicken, baked beans, potato salad (which I ate – I never eat it – it was good) and bread. They then had mini servings of homemade banana pudding and the company had bought two big anniversary cakes for us to eat. One vanilla cake with vanilla butter cream and one chocolate cake with chocolate butter cream. It was YUMMY.

Once all employees were done eating we went out front and had a picture made by the main entrance. There was at least 150+ out there. I know that the company I work for is more physically oriented as far as the shop work to men – in total there are ten women who work for this company – counting me. I only get to see them when we go up for things like we did yesterday or for the administrative assistant luncheon that is coming up. I love that.

Happy 30th Anniversary to the place I have worked for 3 years and 3 months!

PS: The spell check wanted me to replace Nascar with Lascar. What the heck is that?? lol

Practice (Day 28)

Monday – first volleyball practice.

I was nervous. Seth and I went home after I picked him up and fixed grilled cheese sandwiches (which honestly sound REALLY good at the moment). He did his homework and cleaned his room and then we headed to Jared and Rita’s house to follow them to practice.

It was in a part of town I haven’t been to before but not that far from our house. It was another church’s gym. This church practices EVERY Monday all year. They were good. For teams we have to have three girls and three boys. There was me, Jared and two guys from his church so we needed two more girls. After a few volleys just for fun he asked two girls from the other church if they wanted to join our team. They said yes!

So now we have our team. We started playing against the other teams and we were undefeated – well until the last game. It was getting late (we had been there for three hours) and I was kind of tired. I missed two shots that I should have got – one of the other girls told me to go with my instincts and just do what felt right instead of second guessing myself. I’ll have to do that!

All in all I had fun. I am glad that I am doing it. Wish us luck!!

Sunday (Day 27)

Sunday was uneventful. We went to church then came home for the evening. We ended up taking a nap and over sleeping for afternoon church with the hub’s brother Jared.

Later that night Jared called and asked if I was serious about playing volleyball with his church. He told me to be at practice the next day at 6:30. I was really excited but nervous. I mean – I am pregnant.

That was about it for our Sunday. Short but sweet update.

Saturday (Day 26)

I let myself down this weekend by not updating my blog. I must admit – it’s hard to do! If I had a snazzy phone that I could do internet on – this wouldn’t be a problem. I could just give quick 100 word or less updates on the weekend but alas – I have no such phone.

Saturday was the hubs littlest brother’s 24th birthday get together. We were supposed to be there at one but we got there around 2 (we are always late). Hot dogs, chili and cake. They handed me a huge piece of cake and I almost couldn’t finish it. I mean – who eats that big of a piece of cake?

Afterward the hubs and his littlest brother started playing some video games and the kids had all brought their DS so they played in the other room. Me, Jared and Rita (the hubs other brother and his wife), another couple that was there and another woman went out to play volleyball in the back yard.

I was out there for about an hour. It was hot so I had on shorts and flip-flops and an Elmo shirt. Go ahead – laugh. I got hot so had to sit down. Mind you this was not a regulation volleyball net – it was like one you buy at Wal-Mart with the birdies to play badminton. My feet got a little sun – you could see where my flip-flops went across my foot AND I got bit like six times by MOSQUITOES. I mean – mosquitoes in APRIL? Gosh – my legs itch.

After we left the hubs brothers house (at SEVEN) I was hungry again. We went with the hubs mom and her man to Applebees. I only had chicken fingers, Seth ate two small hamburgers and the hubs had a steak. I hate eating late but man I was hungry. I also saw my Uncle D there – it was a nice surprise.

We got home late – about 10. Jared and Rita’s church have a volleyball league. They play against other churches and I thought that would be really fun. At the party I found out that Jared wasn’t on a team cause they couldn’t find other players. So – I said I would do it.

Tell you more about the volleyball thing on another post since you know – I have to catch up!!!

Cassie Clare (Day 25)

I did buy her newest book yesterday – City Of Fallen Angels. I am already almost halfway through it. The next book in this series isn’t going to be released until some time next year. This is when I wish I had started reading this series AFTER all the books were out – like I did with Twilight.

There is another book series that is being made into a movie – The Hunger Games. I haven’t read this but I have heard lots about it. A dystopian future that has fights to the death among teenagers yearly and they are televised. Something to that effect anyway.

When this does come to movie theaters I will watch it. Jennifer Lawrence has been cast as Katniss, Liam Hemsworth has been cast as Gale (he was the guy that dated Miley Cyrus and was in the Last Song with her) and last but not least – my favorite – Josh Hutcherson has been cast as Peeta. He’s played in TONS of movies: Bridge To Terabithia, Zathura, The Vampire’s Assistant, Journey to the Center of the Earth. I mean – the kids awesome – and cute. 😛

Again I have no idea anything about these characters but for the simple fact that Josh is in the movie – I will read the books and go watch it when it comes out. Oh – since I am talking about books made into movies. I mentioned yesterday that the Mortal Instruments series will be made into movies.

For anyone interested – Lily Collins (the girl who played Sandra Bullocks daughter in the Blind Side) has been cast to play Clary. That’s all that is confirmed for now. If I find out anything else – I’ll pass it on!

Oh and if you want to follow Cassandra Clare on Twitter its @cassieclare.

No Clue (Day 24)

I honestly have nothing interesting or riveting to write about today. That sucks.

At least it’s almost the weekend. Which for me means cleaning the house and continuing to pack up the back bedroom. So that’s not really a weekend is it? We will be making progress though. I also plan on getting a new book this weekend – hopefully.

City Of Fallen Angels – Book 4 of 6. The author is Cassandra Clare – she is amazing. People love Twilight but really – this isn’t like Twilight at all. There are vampires, demons, angels, werewolves and faeries. Roll your eyes if you want but I like these kind of fantasy books.

All books of this series – The Mortal Instruments – will be made into movies. If you want to read more about Cassandra and her books and who has been cast in the movies go here.

If I do get it – I’ll probably finish it this weekend. I love to read. If you ever want to make me happy – take me to Barnes and Noble.

7 Weeks (Day 23)

Today I hit the 7 week mark in my pregnancy.

I still have not been sick – thank the Lord – and I haven’t gained or lost any weight since my first visit but I honestly feel like a fat cow. I don’t know why – I still fit in my size 7 jeans and shorts. I am not hungry most of the time but I do eat cause I know I have to but I don’t eat junk (ie: pizza or anything greasy). I do occasionally get a Hershey bar from the gas station but that’s just cause I have a sweet tooth.

I know I won’t start showing yet but I worry about when I will. I’ve always had a little nudge of fat that I couldn’t get rid of right below my belly button – you ladies know what I am talking about – and that really bothers me. After I had Seth I fit back into my SIZE 4 jeans in about 3 months. Of course that was 9 years ago – people change! I hope that after this baby I can possibly be in size 5 jeans. I plan on breast-feeding and I know that burns a lot of calories so cross your fingers for me. Of course I would continue to eat healthy and drink water constantly like I have been.

No cravings but I do smell bacon a lot. I did go home Monday and see the bag of red delicious apples I bought Sunday at the store and had to have one. Even though I was about sit down and eat dinner. At least it was a want for something healthy.

There you have it – my 7 week update.

Birthday Money (Day 22)

Seth’s birthday was a week ago today but his party wasn’t until this past Saturday. Turns out no kids came and it was just my mom, brother, cousin and his wife – the hubs mom, dad, step-mom, step-dad, brothers and sister in-laws. Lovely right? I felt like I had failed as a party planner – and I’m certified for crying out loud.

Anyway – Seth ended up with $90 a pocket copter and a few other things. He wanted to spend his $90 yesterday at Wal-Mart so I let him. After getting a coke for him and some batteries for his pocket copter we headed to the toy section.

I tell you – I have the most indecisive child ever. He picks up something and puts it in the cart then finds something else and takes the first thing out and puts it back so he can put the second thing in. I was his personal calculator and was telling him how much money he had left after everything he put in the cart.

I won’t bore you with the details but we were there for about an hour walking up and down the same three isles. Finally he had spent all his money. This was his haul: a blue razor scooter, a few Iron Man toys, a pirate dress up kit, something for a motorized hamster, two life-like bugs that were also motorized and a bey blade. There might be something in there I am missing but he was most excited about the scooter and the bugs.

The hubs HATES cockroaches (who doesn’t) and one of the bugs was just that – a cockroach. It’s about 3″ or 4″ long and looks completely real. He took it to spring break daycare today and freaked the lady out at the desk with it. He will probably get the hubs with it this weekend.

Welp – that was my day yesterday. How was yours???
